A tracker for ornaments, kept year-round
OrnamentTracker is a collector's tool for collecting, storing, and tracking down rare and just-released ornaments. Series checklists mark what you own and what you are missing; a cross-brand release calendar carries only the dates a maker has published; alerts reach you before the good ones are gone. Around the tool sits the reference a collector actually uses: history, countries and workshops, the markets and the brands, identification by type, and the care that keeps a collection alive from one December to the next. It is written for collectors and nostalgics who know the difference between the real thing and a reproduction, and who would rather have an honest page than a padded one.
The photography
The pieces marked "From the Collection" across the site are photographs of ornaments from the editors' own shelves, shot at home, most of them on the tree where they actually hang. Everything else you see is either licensed archival material, credited where it appears, or drawn by hand for these pages. No image on this site was generated by a model. Where a page needs an image we do not honestly have, the space waits until we do; identification notes under collection photographs say so plainly when our records on a piece are still open.
The catalog
Every series and ornament in the tracker carries a public identifier and a source: the maker's own page or a museum record. A row without provenance never appears. The catalog grows only from sources we are permitted to use, never by scraping.
The standards
We source factual claims, and where the documentary record is thin we say so: origin stories are told as disputed, not as settled fact. Care and preservation advice follows published conservation guidance from institutional sources, cited on the care pages themselves, rather than invented technique. Attribution honesty runs through the collecting pages: style alone is an educated guess, and we say so.
